The distillery was located within the Dumbarton grain whisky complex on the outskirts of Glasgow and the vast majority of its spirit was blended away by owners Hiram Walker and

as this Johnnie Walker was presented to staff when Hill Street closed in 2012

it became a casualty of the whisky industry's overproduction during the 1980s and was closed by United Distillers in 1988
