Bypass style thermostat housings are required whenever a thermostat is being used in the cooling system to provide water to the engines exhaust system during the time that the thermostat is warming up

The Filters are designed specifically for marine use to resist corrosion and have a drain plug for water removal

They are 4" in diameter and do not raise the fill at all
