Antique Silk Cut Steel Guard Chain - Beautiful Delicate Long Silk ChainThis is a lovely old long silken chain. It is of brown fabric, possibly originally black and interspersed with woven tiny cut steel beads. It has a length of just under 60 inches and has a connecting knot to the piece. It is very slender and a beautiful antique, possibly as old as Georgian. As an antique item it will show signs of age and patina. Each page has a charming flower decoration of bright colours surrounding a little romantic and sentimental verse

This is set in a very pretty shield design

It is made of very nicely cut glass which is possibly cranberry glass and stands nicely on a flat base

The glass in in good antique condition and the piece has patina and age related wear

This is a gorgeous wooden carved desk ink well in the shape of a charming dog

They come in an original case made of black papier mache with beautiful inlay to the top with a central flourish as shown

To the back of the last page is a gorgeous ink written dedication from "your attached friend"  The verses are incredibly romantic with forget me nots accompanying a verse "this simple flower betrays my heart"
