PrehniteOne of the most unusual Prehnites I have seen from any locality. At first glance, one might think that these are "casts" or epimorphs after another species, as Prehnite has been known to do, but upon close inspection you can see that these are completely solid inside and are basically Prehnite stalactites or non epimorphic "fingers". Some of these "fingers" are broken and show a radial growth pattern in the center. Really strange for the species. I

This area has long produced some of the finest Topaz specimens in recent memory from the standpoint of color

with a predominant finger flaring out of the center of the piece

The piece is doubly terminated with no damage whatsoever

This crystal group exhibits the classic "sword-shaped" habit with high luster

the accompanying Quartz crystals are nearly equal sized to the Brookites and just as evenly spread out

For any of you Pyromorphite collectors out there

monoclinic crystals which are sitting atop very sharp

crystallized examples but large display specimens to boot

I love how beautifully the piece sits and displays on its own without the aid of a base or clay

The crystal shows superb deep red fluorescence under UV light
