Fluorapatite on "Mountain Leather"This piece comes to us from the Kay Robertson collection (#8407) and the label states that it's from the Untere Riffelmorne (Lower Riffel Moraine) in the Stubachtal (Stubach Valley) of Salzburg. I've seen specimens from the Riffel Glacier, but I don't know if I've seen a piece labeled as coming from the actual moraine of the glacier prior to this piece. A sharp, lustrous, translucent, medium yellow color hexagonal crystal of Fluorapatite measuring 8

The Apatites from this area are among the most recognizable and desirable for the species as the wide range of colors

but rather a few blades in parallel growth twinned together

I still consider this to be a collector quality specimen
