Mr. Fillmore was called the "Father of the Trombone Smear", writing a series of fifteen fun tunes featuring trombone smears called "The Trombone Family", whereof "Lassus Trombone" is a part of. Scott Ramsey has arranged this old funny tune for 2 cornets, Trombone and Euphonium The piece is very well arranged, and as always its the trombone that carries the well
The lyrics were written by Katharine Lee Bates and the music composed by church organist and choirmaster Samuel A
