Matthieu Barret Brise Cailloux Cornas 2022Matthieu Barret's entry level Cornas is anything but. Pure granite driven Syrah from biodynamically farmed old vines, aged in concrete eggs and large format barrels to preserve every bit of fruit and terroir. The 2022 is luminous with notes of dark cherry, crushed violet, black pepper, and a bright iron tinged minerality that lifts the whole wine. Juicy and accessible now, but built to age. Northern Rhne at its most alive.
